Angie Cordova
Bio
My name is Angie Cordova, I am a first-generation undergraduate student at the University of Florida. I am majoring in psychology with a concentration in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience and minoring in health disparities in society. I have a passion for understanding the connection between the brain and behavior. Also, a passion for understanding and sharing awareness of disparities in the world and particularly in health as this is the field I hope to go into one day. Aside from academia, I enjoy spending my free time going to the movie theaters or trying out local food spots.
Education
As an undergraduate student, I started my first-year at the University of South Florida, where I then transferred to the University of Florida for the next three years and pursued my interests in psychology and research. I have majored in psychology throughout all my undergraduate career and continue to take courses, now delving deeper into neuropsychology. More information related to education can be found in the coursework tab, where the relevant courses of interest I have taken are shown.
Experience
Delving into my passion for psychology, I have searched for work, mentorship, and research experience in the field. My first-year as an undergraduate, I worked as a registered behavior technician working with children with ASD and conduct disorders. Then, I focused on gaining research experience in my second-year where I have been a part of multiple research projects, and have found my specific niche interest in cognitive neuroscience, hoping to apply neuroscientific methods to clinical assessments and populations. Finally, I have gained mentorship experience as a teaching assistant for cognitive pscyhology and hope to continue teaching as an assistant and spreading knowledge on topics of interest.
